What have I learnt from this subject?

When I first heard about sem 4 students have to take this subject, I am quite impressed. This is because my seniors said that this subject is fun. Yet, it is. But unfortunately, no offense please sir, this the subject that I hate most in the universe. Why? Let me tell you this. I am not a critical person. I love to read and think about what I have read but to give an opinion about it,nahhh not my thing. However, I’ve wronged this subject unintentionally. Actually, this subject taught me a lot. Yes, a lot. With this subject, I finally learn how to use my brain wisely (not only to daydreaming). I remembered how I felt so down when I received my first assignment, short article on “The influence of Malay Heredity” by Tun Mahathir. I only got 5.7 over 10 where it was actually a redo assignment. First I started to hate this subject. Nevertheless, I am too not a give up person. For my second, third and fourth assignment I got 7.2 for (thinking folly), 7.8 for (men and women are merely players) and 7.9 for (the Jewish and their deceits). What an improvement! Even though not as smart and critical as other classmates, I feel good too. Unless my dear sir felt sorry and gave me better marks. Hope not so. At least I have something to be proud of. I HAVE LEARNT CRITICAL LITERACY. How critical do you think is that? Very critical, indeed. Thank you for making me learnt this. I am not regretting it but if you offer me to take this subject again, there is only one thing I want to say. “This subject is great, the lecturer is cool, whole things are great, thanks but no thanks”. Enough of critical literacy. I will always resemble this subject as my “once sweet companion”. J

What is sanctum?
Sanctum is a holy place or where place where people cannot easily enter in which, in this movie it refer to the Esa-ala cave which is deep down underground and far deep inside.

Sanctum is a story where professional divers found unexplored and underwater cave name Esa-ala in Papua New Guinea. They feel so excited and eager to be announced as the first one who explores the cave. At first, everything is under control and the perimeter underground is at its best control. However when Frank and Judes dive to the Devil’s Restriction (unexplored section), the problem started to occur. Judes died while diving and Frank was blamed for that incident. When they decided to go back to the base camp, a fierce storm develops and this has made them stuck in the cave. They have no other way out but only to find a new way out to survive. Many troubles occurs as they do not believe in other and being selfish. Because of these problems, they finally lost control and panicked. All of the divers died but only one left survived, Frank’s son.

For me, as I watched this movie, I have learnt one most important thing in handling such situation, TRUST. For sure, we need to control ourselves from panicking and stop being such an ignorant. Listen to the expert. They know what best for us especially in such situation. Easily said than done. That is true, as I never face such situation. I even not sure what will I do if this happen to me. We no matter how strong our mentality are, but still we can never fear the forces of nature. What I am trying to point out is, we can never avoid what has God plans for us but remember this, never give up your life as we do not know when we going to die. Fight for our life. That is it.

Guilty things that pleasure me...

Guilty things? Hurmmm...even I myself not sure about it...of course I do have guilty things that really pleased me...I just don’t remember what...Let me recall... ahhhh got it..Remember it now... I do not have one...bluffing!  I love to bluff...hahhaha...stealing too...don’t get me wrong...I know it is wrong but once you have tried it, you’re addicted. That’s me. When I lied to people, I feel like I have reached karma. Okay, I know what is on your mind now. You think have I ever lied to you...of course! J First, let me make it clear for you... I lied for fun... nothing serious...by the way; I lied for joke...Making fun of other people. I love to see that they are falling for my lies... ohh god...that is so refreshing...can’t they differentiate between lie and truth...or am I too great in faking story? That is funny. Bluffing is refreshing! J ohh yes..For the part of stealing, I do not steal anymore...That was when I was young. Around 18 if I’m not mistaken...this time I’m not lying. Back then, when I stole things I feel happy. It really pleased me. For sure because I saved lots of money as I do not pay for it. Usually I only stole accessories. Now, I didn’t do it anymore. Super guilty I have felt plus my mother never taught me to steal. I think that is all. Oh before that, I want you to make sure for something...what makes you think all I have written above is true? Is it true? Or am I lying? It is up to you. Think yourself. Bye!

“Big Mike?!
Why were you going to the gym?

Because... it's warm.

Do you have any place to stay tonight?”

The Blind Side based on the true story of African- American boy named Michael Oher a.k.a Big Mike. Abandoned by his drug-addicted mother, he left to survive alone and become homeless. He lived by with one cloth changing and sleep everywhere he thinks warm. Leigh Anne Touhy is the person who helps him out of his street life. The breeze of cold night has changed everything when the Touhys find him wandering alone late at night and in the name of humanity, they help him. However, Mike presence makes Leigh Anne fall in love with him. She adopted him, give him education and give him chance to be what he wants to be. Now Mike has become the successful football player. From street boy who has nothing, now he is successful and most thank to his adopted family who helped and support him.

 What is your blind side?
The term of blind side is often use in the American football game. Blind side refers to attack or hit on or from the side where the attacked person's view is obstructed. To avoid from being blocked by other players, there must be someone to take care of the blind side to make sure he would not be attack by anyone. That is in the football game. What is about yours? Who takes care of your blind side? Or in opposite, have you ever take care of others blind side? Were you willingly taking care of their blind side, give you all just to protect them? Ask yourself.

Despite the racism, caste and humanity.
When I first watch this movie, I thought that this movie is about being racist between the black and white. No. It is wrong. I feel ashamed to have that thought. This is the wonderful movie about the bond between the human, their awareness to help each other, giving and taking, and loving regardless of their colour. It is also not about the caste. Being fooled if one said caste is everything. In this movie, the Touhys do not make it big deal to take care of Mike (the fact that he is black and use to live in street) and willingly help him without ask anything back in return. They love truly and so good to watch them loving each other and never care of what other people said. They do not answer to people who are always questioning the status of Mike. I do not see racism or caste in Leigh Anne dictionary but I do see her humanity. She is so true with her feeling and straightforward in her very opinion.  This woman is an inspiration, yes she is.

love is the voice under all silences...

Subjective, love it is. Love is differed in everyone eyes’ and heart. They feel the presence of love, they know how to love but no one can truly explain what love is. Love does make people flying without wings. So true what Albert Einstein once said, ‘Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love’. Nevertheless, how people can claim their love is far greater ever existed in the world. Is it true love? Is it their life call? Does love increasing or decreasing each day by day? How they can be so sure? Do they know what love is? Is it between lovers? Could it be between men with his mistress? Or maybe between a master and his pet? Love is general. It can happen in any kind of relationship. Alas, still no one can deepen the meaning of love. It is not because they cannot love, they do know how to love and how to give love. It is because love can only be felt but you can never touch it. You can never see it. You can never explain the figure of love. However, when people do talk about love, they can feel the warmness of love fill their heart. That is love. Unseen but it is there.

Silence has taken its place.  A wife poured the drink into the glass. The husband said nothing but they stared at each other gently. They smiled. Simply said that can be love too. You do not need to say it every day ‘the three magic words’ because it may not seen as genuine any longer. Simple action can show the love and it even speaks louder than the words. Hugging or smooching is better than thousands words of love. It is more meaningful. Simple touch can make people feel the love. No words require. Still love presence’ is felt and lingers within them. Yes, love is the voice under all silences. Action alone is enough.

Why is that so? Take animals for example. Animals as we all know cannot speak like human. However, why their love is stronger than we are, the human are are. They can love better than we can. Narrowed it down, male penguin is one of the greatest examples.  When the female laid the egg, it is their turn to take care of the egg, put under their feet until it hatches. For four months, they do not make a single move, not even to find a food. They do not eat at all until they lose half of their weight. Their action alone portrays how much they love their kid. They are willing to sacrifice to take care of the egg even though it means that they cannot eat for four months.  This is love.

Love is what you think love is. Maybe some are lucky to get themselves a true love, but some are not. A few can be the slave of love because they are blinded by fake love. They seek for something in return because they do not know that in love is all about sincerity without asking for return. Most of all, love between God is the most greatest as only His love is pure and never fade. People do change but not our creator. Our God’s love has no boundaries.

Music!!!

Music connects people, they say.
Indeed.
It plays vital roles in swaying people mood. Music can simply make people shed tears or laugh. Music is inspiring yet it can be annihilating too. That is what called as music.

Talk about music power, it is adrenaline rush.

Since we were born, we already are exposing with the music. Sweet lullabies sang by our mother, kindergarten songs such as ‘Mary had a little lamb’ familiarise in every toddler eardrum. Yet even our folk song hereditary us with its own unique stanza. It is full of advise but in a very rhetorical way. Back in mine at Pahang, Walinong Sari is the most popular folk song. Surprisingly until now after yesteryears, people still believe in this princess perfection even though they never really know her. However, just by listening to the song, they believe in it. How powerful music is.

Enough talk concerning the folk songs, now I want to put in the picture what music really meant to me. Music in my own thought is the most powerful enchantment that can simply put somebody under the cast. Indeed. Music somehow has it major influence in every individual life. Two examples listed down enlighten how music can influence us:

Example #1:

Maori people express their heritage and cultural identity through songs and dance. One of the most popular is, known as Haka. It is often depict as traditional war dance come along with song. Maori people use to make a point, vent anger and try to attempt to look as menace as possible. When the song have been sung, they feel courageous, rousing and connected between each other and they ready to face any circumstances that will come. That shows how the music portrays as a connector within every people and the fact that they sharing and conform the same music under one culture.

Example #2

Have ever heard of the legendary singers that tried to stop war and bringing the peace just by their own music? Well I can say two big names like Bob Marley and John Lennon well known among music lover. Their music is all about freedom. It is amazing how they can write such a good song that can manipulate so much people and win their heart. Their song is inspiring, motivating and knock us on to make us realise the importance of freedom for humankind. For every single word they sang, it is one-step to the freedom. How wonderful just by music stream, people all around the world including me shared the common acceptance of meaning conveyed by their songs. Music somewhat is a link that linking people together regardless their differences.

That is why I said that music is the most powerful enchantment that put everybody under it cast. It is such a magic spell that everybody fall into and can hardly resist it. No matter what genre they are listening to, but still all people are connected under one thing that called MUSIC.

Before I end up this blog entry, lets us listen to this song and together we value what this song try to convey it actual meaning. J I present you Redemption Song by Bob Marley! Enjoy!

~~Oh pirates, yes they rob us
Sold I to the merchant ships
minutes after they took I
from the bottomless pit

But my hand was made strong
by the hand of the almighty
we fought in this generation
Triumphantly
won't you help to sing,
these songs of freedom,
'cos all i ever had
was redemption songs,

emancipate yourself from mental slavery,
none but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'cos none of them can stop the time

How long will they kill our prophets
while we stand aside and look?
some say it's just a part of it
we got's to fulfill the book~~
